Officially called the Individual Events Team, the Forensics team members receive individual coaching in preparation for competitive events. Between public speaking events and dramatic interpretation events, Dow High has a very accomplished Forensics team. Public speaking events consist of attempting to sell a product where members write and deliver their own speeches or are informative. A lot of these presentations require making visuals. Dramatic interpretation events consist of story telling, dramatic interpretation, prose, or poetry. The meets usually take up an entire Saturday, all in early Spring. These meets have at least three rounds and there are five other people to compete against in each round. Judges rank speakers within those rounds. Based on those rankings it is possible to move onto the semi-finals and then possibly the finals. There is also a district, a regional, and a state tournament.
