Team members for the Debate Club are chosen from students who are or have been enrolled in the Debate and Discussion class. Members practice constructive and rebuttal speech techniques, cross-examination, note taking and critiquing skills. Students then research and prepare cases on the national debate resolution. This debate topic is used by all debaters throughout the entire country for the whole season. The team competes in tournaments approximately three separate weekends each month in October and November, with a few tying up the season over the Winter break.
