Business Professionals of America (BPA)
Business Professionals of America (BPA) is an organization for high school students who are preparing for business and office occupations. The club activities are designed to help develop individual and group initiative in planning and carrying out business-related projects. The activities include speakers and tours of local businesses, and sessions with college advisors concerning high school preparation for college business curricula.
BPA members are also given the opportunity to compete with other area business students in areas of: accounting, math, web design, information technology, computer programming, public speaking, team presentations, and interviewing and computer applications.
The Business Professionals of America Club helps students develop leadership roles, skills and allows students to get involved in their community.
Any interested student who is enrolled in a business class may join. Some of the club's activities include small-scale fund-raising projects and competing at local, state and national levels.
Opportunities for leadership positions include president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and Student Union representatives.
